Here is another witch-hazel blooming two months after our native witch-hazel bloomed. I found this in a park and it wasn't identified with a sign. My guess is that it is a hybrid from Asiatic parent plants as they bloom after our native species. With the record-setting warmth in December and abrupt single digit low temps in early January blooming schedules have been thrown off a bit. I was on a property before the new year and a forsythia had a few blooms.
